Responsible editor:admin  Browse:412 Time:2023-07-04 10:21:57

    The European Union's General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR), which came into force on June 12, 2023, seeks to address the major societal changes that have impacted consumer product safety over the past two decades, such as accelerating digitalisation, new technological developments and globalised supply chains. The new General Product Safety Regulation aims to guarantee the safety of all consumer products on the EU market, including non-food products sold offline and online. Specifically through the following ways:

    Critical factors in a consumer product safety assessment, such as the evolving characteristics of a product or its interrelationships;

Improving product safety conditions between online and offline sales;

Develop specific product safety requirements for online marketplaces to protect consumers from dangerous products sold in online marketplaces;

    Extend the obligation on all non-harmonised products imported into the EU to have an economic operator in the EU responsible for product safety issues;

    Provide EU national institutions with the necessary tools to strengthen their enforcement powers;

    Through the announcement to require consumers to contact directly with standardized recalls, to ensure the effectiveness of product recalls.
